OXID eShop v6.0.0 release candidate 1 (AKA “Partner Release”) is publicly available from now on.
With OXID eShop V6, the system requirements will change a bit as described in this blog post.
There will be changes in session handling in OXID eShop 6. Until now, we used to use the regular PHP session handling and optionally, centralized session storage for high load scenarios. In this blog post I will show up clever alternatives and how to write an own session handler if you want to use a database for session storage anyway.
There are some very useful tools OXID ships with for form validation. They are used by the OXID eshop itself (e.g. registration form) but you can also use them for your own forms. The benefit is, that it is a 100% OXID-compliant solution and you need no third-party libraries. The tutorial should give you an idea of how to do that and is just a minimal example.
